MEN, WOMEN & FAMILIES
FINDING FREEDOM & IDENTITY IN CHRIST
When sin entered the world’s story, it inevitably led to fractures in our own. But if we invite the gospel into our brokenness, there is healing and renewal. As brothers and sisters in Christ, we are called to care for one another's journey of restoration.
OUR VISION
God deeply desires us to experience freedom, using it to love and serve one another without fear or manipulation (Galatians 5). Transformation to that happens when the gospel informs our identity, redeeming even the darkest aspects of our lives through the power of His Spirit and relational support.
We want GSJ Nashville to be a community where people feel safe to admit their struggles. After all, we all have them. And it’s only after confession that we can hear the words, “Me too.” By being open in a healthy and safe space, we also can experience the power of prayer and a biblical worldview that actively reinforms our outlook, founding it on truth rather than scars, fear, and habit (James 5).

Counseling and Recovery Groups create this kind of environment where a small community that understands what you’re facing can regularly walk alongside you as you pursue clarity and wholeness.
RECOVERY GROUPS
Our Recovery Groups meet to explore the truth and way of Jesus in a therapeutic community that knows and prays for each other. All of the groups are led by trained volunteers or staff.
Some focus on addiction, others on the consequences of abuse, and some on loss. Similarly, depending upon their nature, some groups are geared solely for women while others for men.
COUNSELING
One-on-One Counseling

We have several lay counselors trained to work one on one with people seeking individual counseling. We also partner with many local licensed therapists to whom we refer. You can start by meeting with one of our intake counselors to determine the best fit for you.

Premarital & Marriage Counseling

Marriage is a singularly unique relationship in our lives, in both connection and complexity. We offer premarital and marriage counseling for couples looking to engage with each other in a way that honors the Bible’s beautiful, enduring vision for marriage.

Prayer & Restoration

This recovery path lets you explore your personal story through prayer with the guidance of one to two trained individuals. Typically, you meet with these guides at least three times over the course of a few months, picking up the journey where you left off from your previous meeting.
