What We Believe
We believe the Bible is the true written word of God divinely inspired by men. We also believe there is only one true God who is omnipresent, all wise and infinite. He is called by many names, some know him as a Mighty Counselor, Prince of Peace, A Way Maker, Savior, Master and Jehovah Jireh. He is our father who is worthy of our honor and truly worthy to be praised. He is the ruler of the universe and is the Godhead of the holy trinity, The Father the Son and the Holy Ghost; equal but distinctive in their mission.
The Bible commissions us in Mathew 28:18- 20 where it says, And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, all power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
The Scriptures teach that Christian baptism is the immersion in water of a believer, in the name of the Father, and Son, and Holy Ghost. We are taught that water does not save anyone, but to be baptized is important because our Lord was baptized. Baptism is an outwardly demonstration of our obedience to Gods command. It demonstrates our faith in the crucified, buried, and risen Savior, Jesus Christ. We are obedient to the word of God that commands us to examine ourselves and to remember Christ's love for us by taking the Lords Supper with bread and wine as a commemoration of his love for us.
Our church obligation is to live up to this divine commission of God. Joshua 1:8 provides us all with the instructions how we ought to speak and think. Joshua 1: 8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
We are convinced, when men and women obey the word of God they will prosper. They are better husbands and wives to one another. They are better fathers and mothers to their children. They are better employers and employees. They are better teachers and students.
Proverbs 4: 20- 22 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them and health to all their flesh.
